Officially Fall

Playing at a pumpkin patch/farm we went to with Daddy this past weekend.

Little William (not so little anymore - we have a "countdown to my birthday" sign on the fridge that tells me my baby will be TWO YEARS OLD in a few weeks) has been having a great time lately. We've been doing all kinds of fun things, but he is so easy to entertain - he loves even day-t0-day grownup tasks, and is obsessed with brushing his teeth. He begs me several times during the day to get his toothbrush down (I believe these pictures were from an impromptu middle of the afternoon dental "appointment"):

...we've also had a few successful potty tries here and there. He used to sit on his little plastic potty on the floor, but recently Daddy put him on the "big boy" toilet with his special Elmo seat (we looove Elmo) and he got it the first time!

We've had a stretch of gorgeous, warm (70s!) weather, but that doesn't mean that it's not Fall.

Last night William got to stay up late to go to the Carlisle Halloween Parade, which just happened to march down the street one block from our house. It's fun living in town - we wandered over to see thousands of people already lined up. William's favorite thing in life lately is marching bands (which began at Penn State tailgates!) and much to his delight there were 3 in the parade, along with little kids in costumes, floats, etc. He was bursting. It was so cute.

Lots of fun things since my last post - W and I went to State College without Esch for an overnight visit (poor Dad was studying) because I had 2 photo sessions. We lucked out, and "Pa-Nanna-Town" (William speak for Boalsburg) was having a little Columbus Day street festival and the fire station had an open house.

For an almost-2-year-old boy, this was clearly the most exciting thing in the world. He got to see the shiny red trucks up close, wander around the fire house, AND (this was fun for all of us!) get dressed in a "real" fireman's outfit and help shoot a real fire hose. He was so proud, and looks so serious in the pictures:

What a lucky little guy! Pretty fun!

We also had a fun family afternoon at a little friend's birthday party recently - it was on a farm! Best kid's party ever. William (and all of the other tiny partygoers) went nuts running around, meeting the animals - and the best part was, of course, the horse rides! Our little animal lover rode a huge horse around the pen with Daddy by his side.
