Hot, hot, hot

It's been very Summer-like - tomorrow the high is 98! Yikes.

WW has been learning new words by the dozen lately. This weekend we were at a wedding in Boston, and Gula and Pap came to babysit him - he was saying "turtle" perfectly! He seems to learn all kinds of new things over the weekends. His little face lights up when he says a new word, like he knows it's a big deal. He is saying "PEE" for "please" (when prompted, of course... we've not quite mastered manners yet) and "heh" for "help."

Other words in the repertoire are toe, shoe, foot, sit, show, pool, suit (as in bathing suit), dirt (which is becoming a favorite when used with his tractors and diggers... the list goes on. My favorite is probably the cute little "uh oh!" that now accompanies all dropped pieces of food, toys, and sippy cups.

He is starting to "sing" along with favorite songs - you know the silly Apples and Bananas one? He says "eat! eat! eat!" at the right time and is very pleased with himself. He loves when we sing Ring Around the Rosey and thinks it's hilarious when "we all fall down."

Some recent pictures, mainly just snapshots around the house:

Can't believe he'll be 19 months old in 2 days!

Look at that PILE of toys!

A new favorite trick - he can reach the light switch in his room from his crib.

2 things I said I would never do: allow my son to wear a sleeveless shirt (but this is completely acceptable because it's a PSU basketball uniform!) AND use the remote. Esch is going to kill me when he sees this. Little Sneaky picked it up after his afternoon milk on the couch and knew exactly what to do with it. No TV, William!

This was from a few weeks ago- very proud and pleased to report that we have not used the paci in over a week! It's officially retired and a thing of the past.
