Fun weekend!

William had such a great time this weekend with Eric Breniman visiting us! The boys went hiking with Rob, we went "day camping" at Pace Bend with Joel and Renee, and then we all went downtown to Art City Austin on Sunday. Very busy, and very fun! William got to see his first live band on Sunday as we sat and ate our lunches under a tree in front of City Hall. It was a great Austin weekend - beautiful Spring weather (80s and sunny) and we were so happy to have Eric here! We miss him already! Today William is sporting the super soft, cute outer space outfit Eric gave him - THANK YOU!

Family 2 weeks in a row!

We are so lucky! We saw the Grims/Bunnells last week, and this week the McCombies are here visiting!

William is having so much fun with his Gula and Grandpa. He's put on great shows for us: laughing, blowing raspberries, chatting, playing with his toys. He has also been eating a like a champ! He's tried carrots and peaches in the past few days and has finished the whole servings. Very proud!

These pictures are from Happy Hour at Joel & Renee's house. I love Gula's expression as we all try to get William to smile for the photos. He is a little ham.

We all miss Aunt Erika and wish she was here! We'll be back visiting in PA in August and look forward to seeing everyone then (if not again before)!

First trip!

We got back yesterday from a big adventure - William's first trip! We flew to Florida and it was a great time! We stayed at Gran's, and we got to see the entire Rojahn family, which was so much fun. The Bunnells also made an appearance! We got to play with Grandpa and Nanna, and miss everyone so much already. William also got to meet Dad's Dad (who is now "Mom's Dad's Dad")!

William went swimming for the first time, which he absolutely loved, and which I'm sure we'll be doing much more of now that it's basically Summer in Austin.

We have another weekend with family coming up - Grandpa McCombie and Gula are coming to Austin on Thursday! Can't wait to see them, and for them to see how much W has changed! We had his first vegetable today - sweet potatoes. Went pretty well for a first try.

April Fools Day

I think it's worth a special post to remember that one year ago today, we "saw" William for the first time. He was a tiny little thing on the screen at our first ultrasound. My heart was pounding, Esch was holding my hand, and then suddenly we saw him, and his little heart beating away. It was one of the best days of my life! I will always think of it on April Fools Day. I remember walking out of the office, and we were both just overcome and so excited, and so happy.

And here he is now. Be still my heart!
